Me as just another traitor and more Greek than a Greek
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was telling the truth when he bravely said that systematic efforts to force non-Muslim minorities (during and after WWII) out of Turkey constituted an act of fascism. Turkey would have been a better place if today its Greek, Armenian and Jewish populations amounted to hundreds - instead of tens - of thousands. Ironically, one could probably not find in these lands more than a few men who are pure Turks by DNA.
Quo vadis?
Professor Türkan Saylan was a special person; there is no doubt about that. Even if you didn’t know her personally or closely, this is obvious. Her short life story is enough to explain how special she was. Saylan was 74, and we knew that it was time for her to go after long years of battling cancer. So it was not surprising to see such a crowd attending her funeral ceremony.

First off, we would like to extend our heartfelt wishes for a quick recovery to Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan; the hypoglycemic episode he experienced two days ago scared everyone. We hope it never happens again, and hope-despite the fact that we do not necessarily agree with his politics-that Erdogan serves the public for many long years ahead. This column, however, is devoted not to Erdogan's policies per se, but to his health, or rather his attitude towards health.
