ISTANBUL - Chile is a long way from Turkey but exchange programs of various sorts can help bridge some of that geographical gap. One of those programs culminates in two prominent Chilean films, Machuca and B-Happy, which are showing at the Pera Museum. Starting with Pera was very useful and from there it will grow, according to young and attractive Chilean actress Manuela Martelli, who stars in one of the films.
CANNES - British director Ken Loach puts his love of soccer on-screen in 'Looking for Eric,' the story of a depressed mailman who turns to his sporting idol, French soccer legend Eric Cantona, for guidance. The movie is one of 20 competing for Cannes' top prize, the Palme d'Or.
ISTANBUL - Istanbul is readying to welcome puppets from all over the world as part of the 12th International Puppet Festival. The festival, which starts tomorrow and continues until May 20 will be organized in different venues of the city, including Taksim and Sultanahmet squares
ISTANBUL -Celebrating Labor Day in Turkey began in 1909 but not especially among the Turks. The first workers to demonstrate were predominately Bulgarians and Serbs and a few Turks in Skopje. The first demonstration in Istanbul took place in 1912 and these first meetings served as a means of handing out pamphlets rather than demonstrations for labor movement solidarity

ISTANBUL - Sabancı International Adana Theater Festival will start on the World Theaters Day on Friday. The opening ceremony of the festival, which will host theater groups from all around the world, will be held on the historical Taşköprü Bridge in the Mediterranean city of Adana.
