Amerikan ve İngiliz dergileri tarafından 'Dünyanın En Önemli Arkeolojik Keşiflerinin İlk On Listesi'nde gösterilen kazıda M.S. 600'lü yıllarda çıkan büyük bir yangının karbon tabakası izleri ortaya çıkarıldı. Bu izlerin o dönemdeki depremin ardından çıkmış olabileceği göz önüne alınarak çalışmalar yoğunlaştırıldı.

ISTANBUL - The historic villa in the Büyükçekmece district of Istanbul is to become a children’s cultural center. The villa once belonged to a very important name in Turkish history, one Enver Pasha, a politician and soldier during the late Ottoman Empire.
Atatürk Culture Center, or AKM, is a hallmark of Republic-era architecture and it is getting ready to move into the 21st century. Though renovations have not started on the structure, the current designs will tranform AKM into a public space that is worthy of Istanbul as the city prepares to become the 2010 European Capital of Culture.
