Turkey is still trying to solve its energy crisis on natural gas, as harsh winter conditions continue across the country. A decrease in Iran's natural gas exports to Turkey was registered during the extreme subzero temperatures that the country experienced in late January. This decrease did not come at a good time for Turkey, as a reduction in Russian supplies was also registered this month, a result of the Ukraine-Russia gas dispute. Amid this energy debate, it has been discovered that Turkey is in fact paying one of the highest prices for Russian gas in Europe.
Turkey's President Ahmet Necdet Sezer has postponed his official visit to Azerbaijan due to bad weather conditions. Turkey has been hit hard by subzero conditions this week, and mounting snow seems to be on the horizon until the weekend. Sezer's trip was planned between January 25 and 26, under the invitation of his Azeri counterpart to discuss bilateral relations, although due to the bad weather the visit has had to be postponed. In a written statement from the Presidential Palace, it was stated that Sezer would visit Azerbaijan as soon as possible
