La Casa De Papel’in sesi ikinci kez Ankara’da
Dünyaca ünlü ‘La Casa De Papel’ dizisinde seslendirdiği jenerik şarkısı ‘My Life Is Going On’ ile büyük bir üne kavuşan Cecilia Krull, bu akşam saat 20.00’de CSO ADA Ankara’da sahne alacak. Krull, ikinci kez sahneye çıkacağı Ankara konseri için, “Tüm yeni şarkıları da söyleyeceğim bir repertuvar hazırladım. Ankara’daki tüm dinleyicileri birlikte şarkı söylemeye davet ediyorum” dedi.

Popüler dizi ‘La Casa de Papel’in tema şarkısı ‘My Life is Going On’la en az dizi kadar dikkat çeken Cecilia Krull, 21 ve 22 Eylül’de Salon İKSV’de olacak. Krull, “Farklı türlerde şarkı söyleyip sesimle oynamayı seviyorum. Flamenko’dan hip-hop’a, Robert Glasper’dan Johannes Brahms’a hepsini art arda dinleyebilirim” diyor.

Last weekend, while I was watching the Gazi Koşusu, the horserace dedicated to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, at the Istanbul Hippodrome, I felt both happy and sad. I was happy because I felt that we owe a word of appreciation to the Turkish Jockey Club, which has been organizing the show for 85 years, and to all the horse-breeders and employees of the club.

Besides the obvious sense of humor for which the site is known for, this grand blunder committed last week by some of the most respectable newspapers in Greece pointed out that journalism ethics is something that we teach in journalism classes but rarely exists in reality.
Making photography a professional pursuit in life
ISTANBUL - Emre Dörter stayed on in Italy to get some real-life experience in photography after completing his master’s degree at the Accademia Italia before returning home. He says over time he has developed an affinity to shoot still-life pictures, as he does now. ’For everything, there has to be a separate preparation, structure, equipment, eye and approach. To find opportunities to work in different styles is very attractive, in spite of it being stressful for a careful professional,’ he says.

While a reference in a national charter stating the religion of a people might not be a stringent violation of the secularism principle, though it does not conform well with it, the inclusion of a "No law can compromise the principles of Islam" article in the national charter of a country, would not make a country a "theocratic democracy," but would definitely convert it into something much different than a democracy.

Film telling of struggle between two languages gains appreciation
ISTANBUL - 'İki Dil Bir Bavul' (On the Way to School) was one of the most admired films at the Adana Golden Boll International Film Festival. The two directors have shot many documentaries over the years but they say this was their most successful. The documentary-like film's characters are from the real world. A young teacher who comes from Denizli tries to teach Turkish, instead of primary school classes, to Kurdish children who do not even speak a word of Turkish.
Actress aims to build a bridge between Turkey and Chile
ISTANBUL - Chile is a long way from Turkey but exchange programs of various sorts can help bridge some of that geographical gap. One of those programs culminates in two prominent Chilean films, Machuca and B-Happy, which are showing at the Pera Museum. Starting with Pera was very useful and from there it will grow, according to young and attractive Chilean actress Manuela Martelli, who stars in one of the films.

Teacher of expat teens ’lands’ en NASA institute
ISTANBUL - A historian and social anthropologist by training who has spent a quarter of her life as an expat, Sema Alpayta is this year's only Turkish participant in NASA's Aerospace Institute taking place later this month. She hopes to use her experience to help enrich the lives of the expatriate teenagers she teaches in Istanbul as well as the community.
