"We will stand ready to support Iraqi security forces in the operations"

İstanbul, Oct 17 (DHA) - US Secretary of Defense Ash Carter said, his country and the international coalition will stand ready to support Iraqi security forcesand the Peshmerga in the Mousul operation.

After Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi’s announcement of the starting the liberation operations of Mosul from Islamic State (IS), Carter had made an announcement.

Carter said, "This is a decisive moment in the campaing to deliver IS a lasting defeat."

"We, US and the international coalition, will stand ready to support Iraqi security forces, Peshmerga fighters and the people of Iraq in the operations" Carter said.

"We are confident that Mosul will be freed from IS and the rest of Iraq will be rest from IS’ hatred and brutality" Secretary Carter added.
