ALANYA - Residents in Alanya, a tourist resort of Antalya, have protested the authorities about the threat of flooding of Dim Dam they faced last week.

Because of heavy rain, the water levels behind the dam were dangerously high. Mehmet Taşar, a protester, jumped into the Dim River. Around 100 residents carried banners saying: "We want peace and safety."
