Int’l art fest in Adana

ISTANBUL -The Mediterranean city of Adana’s second largest art event, the Golden Ball 13 Kare International Art Festival, will begin Nov. 20. The festival, organized by the Adana Metropolitan Municipality, will bring many Turkish and international artists together with locals of the city.
The five-day festival will feature painting and photography exhibitions, concerts and discussions. The award ceremony for the "Golden Camera Photography Competition," organized by the Adana Amateur Photographers Association, will also be part of the festival. The opening ceremony will take place Nov. 20 at the Adana Metropolitan Municipality Theater Hall with a concert by Özdemir Erdoğan. Journalist-writer Zeynep Oral, and photographers Wilco Van Herpen and İsa Çelik will be among the guests at the festival’s opening celebration.
As part of the festival, an exhibition by Greek photographers Georgios Depollas, Giannis Dimou, Periklis Alkidis, Stelios Efstathopoulos, Takis Roidakis and Turkish Maruf Şinik, Reha Bilir, Sadık Demiröz, Timurtaş Onan and Haluk Uygur will be open to visitors.
Another painting exhibition, titled "Adana Meeting," will display work by international artists including Yasemin Yılmaz and Bettina Franckenberg from Germany, Debenjan Roy and Rathin Kanj from India, and Mesut Dikel and Neslihan Kıyar from Turkey.
