Turkish media reported yesterday that five people died from drinking fake Raki, a traditional Turkish drink made from aniseed. The victims drank the illegally produced beverage in Istanbul's European district. The alcohol was served in a restaurant, the owner of which is also amongst the casualties.Fifteen people have been hospitalized reported city officials.
A car wash was raided by police, where the alcohol was allegedly being produced and distributed. Fifteen suspects are being held under suspicion.
