A month-long musical extravaganza in the city
ISTANBUL - Starting tonight, Istanbul will be the scene of a musical feast throughout June. The 37th edition of the International Istanbul Music Festival welcomes the summer with an exclusive and impressive program with more than 500 national and international artists. The opening concert of the festival will be performed by the Borusan Chamber Orchestra. 2009 Honor Award will be presented to Turkish opera bass soloist Ayhan Baran.
Countdown for annual İzmir Int’l Fest begins
İZMİR - The annual International İzmir Festival is ready to welcome world-renowned musicians once again. The masters of the Japanese traditional art of drum, Kodo, will open the festival June 13. Music lovers will also have a chance to see the La Scala Philharmonic, the world’s best-known orchestras. With the slogan, 'The festival is for you, are you coming?' the International İzmir Festival will entertain the Aegean until Oct. 18
