When Files Are Opened

The best way to black-out the truth is to strangle it within words. We are experiencing exactly this, in the process of the escape of Alaattin Cakici from Turkey, after being released from prison. The relation of this Mafia Godfather with the institutions, which are the pillars of this state, started becoming unimportant because of the discussions on the details. The meeting between a Deputy Director of our National Intelligence Agency (MIT) and the President of the Judiciary, is being reduced to such details as who invited who to the meeting and reached to a point of "What if such a meeting is held? Is this not natural? Statements made by both MIT and Appeals Court Presidents "IN the name of saving the prestige of their relevant institutions", instead of revealing the truth, do not relax my conscience. I get even more pessimistic, thinking how the truth will ever be revealed... In his statement to Milliyet two days ago, MIT Undersecretary Senkal Atasagun referred to a TV serial named Valley of the Kurds. Cakici had allegedly thought that this message had given him the message that he will be killed. In fact, these kind of Mafia serials always made the impression on me that they served the relations of a world which is alien to the media. IT is just the right time to turn to ourselves and make our own judgement. Â
