US State Department responds to "Allies are arming the PKK" claim

The US State Department has issued a response to the allegation made recently by the top commander of the Turkish Armed Forces, General Yasar Buyukanit, that "Our allies are arming the PKK."
With Turkey on the agenda once again during a daily press conference held by US State Department spokeman Sean McCormack, a question regarding Buyukanit's claim was responded to as follows: "We have no information about any such thing. When we do have such information, I would be glad to share it with you, but we do not know anything about this at this point."
When asked about the State Department reaction to last week's assertions by General Buyukanit about the need Turkey had for a military operation into North Iraq, McCormack said "Our reaction is the same now as it has been in the past when this topic has come up."
McCormack reiterated the need for the Ankara administration to work in cooperation with the Baghdad government in fighting against terror.
