The President of Unilever, Anthony Burgmans said that Unilever considered Turkey the most rapidly growing market in the world, reported to A.A. Burgmans is also the chairmand of the Enlargement & Neighborhood Policy Working Group of the European Round Table of Industrialists (ERT). "The EU adjustment process would encourage investments in Turkey," Burgmans said while attending meetings with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, State Minister and Chief Negotiator Ali Babacan, State Minister Kursad Tuzmen and Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan.

Noting that Turkish economy's reliability had increased considerably in recent years, Burgmans indicated that while their average growth rate in other countries was 4-5 percent, the Unilever would grow in Turkey 20 percent.

Burgmans also stressed that Turkey was of strategic importance for Unilever.

Quoting Prime Minister Erdogan as saying at their meeting yesterday (Monday) that the Turkish government would establish an Investment Promotion Agency to allow entrepreneurs all over the world to invest in Turkey easily and rapidly, Burgmans said that the agency would have very significant role to this end.

ERT, which was established in 1983, is an informal forum gathering around 45 chief executives and chairmen of major multinational companies of European parentage, covering a wide range of industry and technology sectors.
