UN: Turkey Will Have One Of Highest Growth Rates

UN announced that Turkey would be one of the countries that would attain the highest growth levels in 2004. UN stated that Central and Eastern European countries would be the driving forces of the economic growth in Europe in 2004 and drew attention to the expected performance of Turkey. UN Europe Economic Commission stated that, with a 5% growth level, Turkey would be one of the countries having the highest growth rates. On the other hand the growth rate for the third quarter of 2003 that will be announced by the State Statistics Institute tomorrow is expected to be around 6.5%. The poll of the Central Bank on the issue foresaw a growth rate of 5.4% by the year-end. Â
