UK investors favor celebrity neighbors

ISTANBUL - British property investors who buy abroad have plenty of opportunity to celebrity watch as many of the locations they choose are also favorites with the well known and famous, according to Property Wire, a global property news service.
Spain, France, Portugal and Greek Cyprus are the top four favorite places for UK investors followed by Turkey, Greece, Italy, the US, Australia and Canada, according to a poll of readers of ’A Place in the Sun’ magazine.
And they are also popular with famous Brits. In Spain you might spot former England football manager Terry Venables, PR guru Max Clifford, chef Antony Worrall Thompson, composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, former cricketer Ian Botham, singer Annie Lennox, actor Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Olympic athlete Daley Thompson, according to the magazine.
In the south of France you might be lucky to spot David and Victoria Beckham or singer Elton John. Television personality Terry Wogan, singer Toyah Willcox, footballer Steven Gerrard, opera singer Lesley Garrett and Bono from U2 also have homes in France.
In Turkey you might encounter premiership footballers Andrew Johnson and Tim Cahill, golfer Lee Westwood, actor Ricky Tomlinson, boxers Joe Calzaghe and Ricky Hatton, athlete Sally Gunnell, actor Claire Sweeney, and athlete Jason Gardener.
