U.S. Support to Turkish Cypriots

A motion which called on the American government and the European Union to take measures ending the economic and political isolation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, has been launched in the U.S. House of Representatives.The motion of Republican Kentucky deputy Ed Whitfeld were supported  by Nebraska Deputy Doug Bereuter , Democrat Party deputy Robert Wexler and David Price.  The motion voiced appreciation to Turkish PM Tayyip Erdogan for his brave leadership in the progress of the UN-supported Annan Plan.The motion called on Turkish Cypriots not to end their hopes for a united Cyprus and EU membership and congratulated them for their support to the Annan Plan. It also said that Greek PM Karamanlis had supported the UN Plan.Â
