TWO KILLED IN SNOW DISASTER

2 people were frozen to death in Erzurum and Balikesir and two people are missing. Thousands of vehicles and passengers are trapped on roads and faced the danger of freezing. In severay towns, there is no electric, water and natural gas supply. People are freezing at their homes. Road connection to hundreds of settlements is cut , and naval and air transportation halted.

About 200 trapped vehicles in Balikesir were rescued. Almost all the village roads in Bursa and Balikesir were closed to traffic.
Three forest workers are missing in the Mustafakemalpasa forset administration.
Roads of Aegean city Izmir are frozen. 96 village roads in Bolu are cut off traffic. Highway teams are constantly working in the Bolu mountain section of the Ankara-Istanbul highway to prevent ice. Ferry-boat cruises to Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus from Mersin were cancelled.
Border procedures at the Isxpsala border gate were halted because of storm and snow.
258 village roads are disconnected in Kayseri and 152 in Duzce, 13 in Karaman.
