Turkish troops work to block PKK escape routes back into northern Iraq

Up to 8,000 Turkish soldiers are squeezing the PKK terror group's forces in an air-strike operation based in the southeastern Turkish provinces of Tunceli and Sirnak.

In the meantime, the number of known PKK terrorists killed by Turkish forces in the operations around Tunceli is reported to be 17. With national October 29 celebrations going on around Sirnak yesterday, Turkish helicopters pounded targets in the Cudi and Gabar mountain ranges in the region. Special Turkish commando teams have already been transferred to the region to ensure that PKK terrorists trapped in the mountainous region are not able to escape back over the border into northern Iraq.
