Officials said late on Monday the engine room of a Turkish tanker in the Black Sea caught fire injuring two crew members.
Fourteen other crew members escaped unharmed.   Â
Local Governor Hamza Erkal said the vessel caught fire off the coast of Kandira, near Istanbul on Monday. A security official said the tanker was not carrying any cargo at the time.
Erkal said the crew evacuated the ship on life boats, and boats were dispatched from Istanbul to extinguish the fire.
