Turkey's chief of general staff expressed on Monday sorrow over the loss of lives in the fight against the PKK, adding "terrorists will suffer." General Yasar Buyukanit also said that grief encouraged the security forces to fight with greater determination.
Buyukanit told reporters in Ankara Turkey did not want any of its soldiers killed or wounded, however that was an inescapable result of the fight against terrorism.

"I do not know when the leading team of the outlawed PKK will be arrested and even if I knew it, I would not tell it," he replied to a question.
Eleven Turkish soldiers were killed in clashes with the PKK since April 20. Turkish military operations against the PKK have intensified recently.
