Turkish FM Davutoglu calls for new vision for Muslim countries

DAMASCUS - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu urged Muslim countries to devise "a new vision" to meet what he called "the expectations of our times."

"The fact is that a new culture is emerging in the Muslim world in terms of geo-strategy, geo-politics and geo-economy. We need to define a new vision that could meet the expectations of our times, traditions and values," Davutoglu told a meeting of the foreign ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Conference in Damascus, Syria

"We need peace, mutual dialogue, communication and stability more than ever," he said. 

Davutoglu held a number of talks with his counterparts on the sidelines of the Damascus meeting including Arab League Secretary-General Amr Musa, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari and Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki.
