ISTANBUL - Although 60 percent of the companies in Turkey continue to hire employees, some 16 percent has been considering layoffs, revealed a research by London-based Antal International, a global executive recruitment organization with over 50 offices in 20 countries.
Antal talked to employers in 107 countries for its Global Snapshot report, which is a quarterly survey of hiring and firing trends in some of the key employment markets and in those likely to join this group over the coming decade.
The recruitment firm asked over 2,700 companies in 23 key markets around the world whether they were currently hiring at professional and managerial level. There is still high demand in talented and effective executives in Turkey, according to the survey. Some 60 percent of the firms operating in Turkey are still hiring employees, while 43 percent remain hopeful of the future, said the survey. Firms that have a strong stand in hiring will maintain their strength, it added.
