Turkish Airlines shoots commercial with Costner

The commercial promoting the first-class cabins of THY's Boeing 777-300ER aircrafts was shot by Swedish director Fredik Callingaard and Danish director of photography Kasper Tuxen, THY's press office said on Wednesday.

A total of 80 actors and actresses from Turkey, Italy, Germany, Serbia and Russia acted in the commercial that was shot at the International Flights Terminal of Istanbul's Ataturk Airport.

Costner departed Turkey at the end of filming, but speaking prior to his departure, said that his stay had provided him the chance to see what a great company THY was.

THY's new commercial will be broadcast in 70 countries starting from February 2009.
