According to a legislation amended in 2005, phone tapping activities of the country’s official intelligence agency, police and the gendarmerie, will be overseen by a person or a commission appointed by the prime minister.Â
Then President Ahmet Necdet Sezer filed a case in the constitutional court to demand the annulment of the legislation.
