Exports from southeastern Anatolia rose by 46 percent to $1.7 billion in the first quarter of 2008 compared to the same period of last year, exporters' associations said on Wednesday.
The export of textile products reached $1.1 billion, cereals totaled $380 million, livestock and water products of $2.3 million and dried fruits worth $89.3 million in the first six months of 2008, the Southeastern Anatolia Exporters' Association officials told the Anatolian Agency.
Exports from the southern province of Antalya to 79 countries amounted to $322.6 million in the same period.
Textile exports from Antalya increased by 20 percent to $59.2 million and exports of fresh fruits and vegetables rose by 22 percent to $236.2 million between January and June 2008 when compared to the same period last year.
