Turkey's Idas orders 2-week unpaid leave

Idas, one of Turkey's leading bed, mattress and home furniture manufacturers, ordered all staff, except core personnel, to take at least two weeks unpaid leave starting Friday, the company said.

Idas said in a statement sent to the Istanbul Stock Exchange that all employees working at its factories and stores would be sent on unpaid vacation for at least two weeks. Idas said it could extend the duration of the unpaid leave up to five weeks if necessary.
The company said all projections made in current market conditions until May 2009 indicate loss. Idas also said that the company's debts were growing and that it was facing financial difficulties.
