Tests runs for Turkey's first fast train will begin in July between the capital Ankara and the central province of Eskisehir.
If everything runs smoothly during the three-month-long test runs, the fast train will begin transporting passengers towards the end of the year.
TCCD officials told the AA on Friday that the fast train would start test runs at a speed of 60km/hr and gradually increase the speed.
The fast train is expected to reduce the travel time between Ankara and Eskisehir from the current three hours to just over one hour.
Turkey's first fast train, which is equipped with the latest technology, will cost 17.5 million euros and will travel at speeds of up to 250km/hr.
