Ukrainian businessmen called on Turkish entrepreneurs to make investments in their country, during a business forum held in the Aegean province of Izmir on Monday.

Numerous officials and businessmen from Turkey and Ukraine attended the Turkey-Ukraine Business Forum held on the sidelines of the 77th Izmir International Fair.

During the meeting, Ukrainian businessmen invited their Turkish counterparts to take part in the investments to be conducted in Ukraine within the framework of the upcoming "2012 UEFA European Football Championship".

There was a remarkable trade capacity between Ukraine and Turkey, Sergey Drost from the Ukrainian Finance Ministry told at the forum.

Drost also said Izmir International Fair was a great platform for cooperation, adding that Ukraine had been effectively participating in the fair since 2004.

During the forum, another Ukrainian official Oksana Griskhevich briefed the participants on the investments to be carried out with respect to Euro 2012.

Griskhevich said nearly 70 percent of the envisaged investments would be carried out by private investors, and called on Turkish businessmen to take part in such process.
