Turkey postpones carry-on liquid ban on commercial flights to April 20

According to the new regulation, passengers will be allowed to travel with liquids, gels and aerosols of a maximum of 100 ml each in their hand luggage.

Liquids are also required to be placed inside clear plastic, zip-top bags, in line with international regulations.

In 2006, the U.S. and the U.K. implemented a ban on all liquids, gels and aerosols after U.K. officials uncovered an attack plot involving a transatlantic flight bound for the United States. European Union countries followed the move to implement a blanket ban.

Most countries later eased the ban and placed limits on carry-on liquids after the regulation resulted in long queues in airports' during security checks.

The civil aviation authority said restrictions can be relaxed for babies and passengers with medical conditions, the Anatolian Agency reported.
