Turkey is allegedly disturbed about the defense tenders she gave to Israeli firms. According to the news of the Defence News magazine, the Israeli IAI firm has been continuously increasing the price in the 700-million-dollar project for the modernization of 54 F-4 warplanes.Israeli companies are selling spare parts at high prices and there are some delays in some of the projects. While Turkey is disturbed with these high prices, Israel said that the spare parts of F-4 aircraft were no more serially produced and it was difficult to find these parts. Turkey excluded the Israeli Elta firm from the 400-million-dollar helicopter and electronic war system tender, while she canceled the 7.7-million-dollar contract with the Israeli IAI firm about the modernization of C-130 military transport aircraft, because of the attempt of the firm to increase the price. The Defence News magazine said that if these problems could not be solved in the coming term, the potential collaboration opportunities between Turkey and Israel would be considerably damaged.Â
