ISTANBUL - The 14th London Turkish Films Festival begins Dec. 5 at the British Film Institute, or BFI, . 400 people, including Turkish and British film stars and filmmakers, will attend the festival's opening events. The festival’s gala will start with "My Marlon and Brando," director Hüseyin Karabey’s multi-awarded film.
As part of the festival, which will continue through Dec. 18, various workshop activities will be organized for children. Among them will be screenwriting, filmmaking, and editing. The results of the workshops will be shown in the short
film section of the festival.
Audiences will have the chance to talk with Turkish filmmakers during the festival. The festival’s films will be screened at BFI Southbank, Barbican, Odeon Covent Garden, Rio Cinema, Odeon Holloway Road and Odeon Lee Valley.
Awarded films on screen
Films to be screened in the festival include Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s "Üç Maymun" (The Three Monkeys), Özcan Alper’s "Sonbahar" (Autumn’s), Zeki Demirkubuz "Kader" (Destiny), Özer Kızıltan’s "Takva" (A Man’s Fear Of God), Seyfi Teoman’s "Yaz Kitabı" (Summer Book), Reha Erdem’s "Zamanlar ve Rüzgarlar" (Times and Winds) and Ben Hopkins’ "Market" (The Market Ğ A Tale of Trade).
