NUREMBERG - The 14th Turkish-German Film Festival ended Monday night in Nuremberg with an awards ceremony where Ina Weisse’s "Der Architekt" (The Architect) and Atalay Taşdiken’s "Mommo" were chosen as Best Film.

Turkish actress Ayça Damgacı received the Best Actress award for her role in "My Marlon and Brando" and the Best Actor award went to Josef Bierbichler for his performance in "The Architect."

"Mommo" was also honored with the festival’s Audience Award, while the film "4857," directed by Petra Holzer, Selçuk Erzurumlu and Ethem Özgüven, received the Mahmut Öngören Award. The prize for Best Documentary went to Mukadder Püskürt’s "Das Andere Ich" (The Other Me) and Grzegorz Muskala’s "Das Maedchen mit den gelben Strümpfen" (The Girl with Yellow Socks) was named the Best Short Feature Film. Honorable mentions for short films went to Özlem Akın’s "Topluluk" (Company) and Cenk Ertürk’s "Pencereler Ardında" (Behind the Windows).

Supported by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the German government’s film-support department and the Robert Bosch Foundation, the festival was organized by the Nuremberg-based Inter Form in collaboration with the Nuremberg Municipality Culture Department. This year’s event kicked off Feb. 26.
