ÇANAKKALE - Çanakkale Rotary Club presented this year’s "Social Services Special Honorary Award" to Mustafa Erdoğan, Fire of Anatolia’s director of art. He was deemed worthy of the award for his performance in "Troy," which brings the ancient city of Troy in the Aegean city of Çanakkale to the world. The award is given every year to people who praise their society with international projects.
"Troy is a legend of Anatolia. On a rainy day I promised the world that one day I would realize a magnificent stage performance," said Erdoğan after Çanakkale Deputy Governor Cengiz Ata presented the award. He said 275,000 people had so far viewed the performance, and continued, "150,000 out of these people are foreigners.
We will go on a world tour in the coming days, starting in Romania. Tickets are on sale in Romania, as well as in Dubai, Qatar and Egypt. Also, a Trojan décor and horse have been prepared in Egypt. The Fire of Anatolia has so far been performed before 11 million people. We are sure that the play ’Troy’ will reach 51 million viewers."
