Thousands of Kurds take to the streets in Brussels

Brussels saw thousands of Kurds take to the streets in a demonstration demanding a Kurdish homeland and the liberation of the Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan. The demonstrators called on the European Union to put more pressure on Turkey to improve its treatment of Kurds.

Carrying pictures of alleged victims of street clashes with Turkish police in the Southeast over the past two weeks, demonstrators came from across Europe.
One of the march organisers said that demonstrators want the EU to tell Turkey there is a problem as there is no democratisation and to push for a dialogue between Turkey and the Kurds.
