The foreign press's interest in Turkey has not ceased since the Pope's departure. Foreign reporters are now focusing the regard the Turkish public has the Catholic leader.
The Times newspaper said the Pope provoked a change of heart here by pledging support for Turkey's EU bid during an impromptu meeting with Prime Minister Erdoğan upon arrival, and by the words he uttered just before leaving, "Half of my heart is in Turkey".
The Guardian newspaper also focuses on public opinion. The paper states that the Pope has convinced the public of his wish to maintain better relations with the Muslim world.
