“I observed one by one, the furniture and objects in the hall of the palace of King Abdullah in Achabe, while preparing for the interview. These remained from King Hussein. The inventory of the records and DVDs in the Bamboo library include; a record autographed by Abba and the records of Count Basie, Johnny Cash, Nat King Cole and the one of Saturday Night Fever musical. I learned that the King was a fan of Lebanese singer Fehruz. His DVDs include; The Darkman., Erin Brocovitch, Bone Collector films.” THE BEST PRESS OFFICE I SAW “During our talk on the beach, I asked to King Abdullah, the type of music he liked. He said; I am not like my father. My choice is the Top 10. But recently, I started liking Arab pop music. The pop music of Turkey is very good. “The press office of the King is the most effective and well-functioning one I ever saw. An official with a Doctorate Degree is managing the office. One of the employees is a graduate of Harvard University. All of them speak excellent English. Everything worked smoothly during the two days. “My last observation is about the streets of Amman. The city is amazingly clean. The mobile phone system is functioning without any interruption in roads between the cities. “This trip made me know the people of Jordan much closer. “ THE UZAN QUESTION “The toughest part of our interview with King Abdullah, was when we asked the question about the passports of Uzans. This was not a question to be asked to a King. “The questioned was popped by Mehmet Ali Birand who exercised all his professional skill and courtesy. The King answered without any hesitation. “But at the end of the interview, he said; I may be mistaken on some issues. Officials could review the issue and reply your question, if you like. Later on, we were informed about the issue, after consultations with the Interior Ministry. “So, We had the King personally confirm the issue about the passports of Uzans. IN this interview I saw once more , Mehmet Ali Birand was a skillful journalist of international scale. That is to say; nobody reaches to a certain point for nothing.
