Talabani: I am against Saddam's execution

Iraq's new temporary President Jalal Talabani said in an interview with British published newspaper "Sark ul Avsat" that he was against the execution of Saddam Hussein. Talabani recalled in the interview that he himself was one of the people who had singed an international petition calling for an end to the death penalty, and that as a result, he would have grave problems with a call for Hussein's execution. Talabani then said that the matter would have to be decided by a federal commission composed of government officials.Â
