LONDON - Syria should abolish its repressive security court that has tried thousands of people since 1992 who are perceived as a threat to the state, Human Rights Watch said yesterday.
The New York-based watchdog said the Supreme State Security Court exists outside the ordinary criminal justice system and is accountable only to the Interior Minister "who acts as the delegated martial law governor".
