According to the records of police, the manager of Besiktas (BJK) Soccer Club, Sinan Engin talked to Mafia figure and fugitive Alaattin Cakıcı, his brother Gencay and his nephew Adem Cakıcı for 62 times in the last two months.Engin told Gencay Cakıcı, “Sports shoes and uniforms are insufficient (Referring to the documents). They should be met. Then, Ibrahım Arı (The name which Cakıcı used in his passport) can go abroad to seek for a soccer player.”Engin told Alaattin Cakıcı, “I was distressed. These matters are not as easy as it was before. This is the last; I can not do such a thing any more.” Cakıcı responded as “You will overcome this.” Engin also said that these kinds of matters caused trouble for the club.Alaattin Cakıcı got angry with Engin on the phone that the championship celebrations of Besıktas last year were not held in the place which Cakıcı’s employee owned. Cakıcı told Engin, “You know my superiority in the club. Do I not have a contribution over the championship?”On April 29, Sinan Engin gave good news to Alaattin Cakıcı who had the visa by means of stationery with BJK letterhead with these words: “Take the materials, every thing is OK.”Cakici fled Turkey comfortably just 7 hours before being arrested on May 3. Learning that he had to serve 8 more months in prison on grounds of leading a criminal organization, Cakici fled Turkey from Antalya, on board a yacht named Brutus, to Rhodes island. How Cakici got two passports prepared for two other men, is still unclear.
