The Honorary Head Prosecutor of Turkey's Supreme Court, Sabih Kanadoglu, has commented that every kind of evidence needed to shut down the largely Kurdish-backed Democratic Society Party (DTP) is present, and that he is amazed that as yet no case has been launched to see through the proceedings.
Said Kanadoglu this weekend, "I am of the view that the DTP deserves to have been closed down at least 100 times up until now."
Kanadoglu, who opened the case against the former DEHAP Party on the basis that it had ties to the PKK terror organization, has said that there are very concrete documents proving that the DTP also has ties to the PKK. He noted:
"There could be charges pressed against certain MPs who have been documented to have ties to the terrorists in the mountains. Because any crimes that they committed before becoming MPs are outside of normal immunity granted to MPs. These MPs could be charged and punished. The important thing is to go after this party on these fronts."
