Turkish authorities announced that six people were injured when a building collapsed in the capital of Ankara on Thursday, state-run news agency reported. Earlier reports said that one child was killed in the disaster. (UPDATED)

Two floors of a four floor building collapsed in the Kecioren district of Ankara, the Anatolian Agency reported

 

Earlier reports had said that three-year-old Emirhan Unalan, who was pulled from the rubble without a heart beat, had died in the disaster.

 

However he was rushed to a nearby hospital in a serious condition along with the other wounded.

Authorities say that most of the apartments in the building were empty at the time of the collapse.

The cause of the incident is still unknown.
