ISTANBUL - The Bursa Metropolitan Municipality has announced the schedule for the fourth edition of the Bursa Silk Road Film Festival, to be held from Nov. 14 to 22.
The event, Turkey’s newest cinema festival, attracted 70,000 viewers last year in the northwestern Marmara city with its rich program of films and affiliated events. This success led organizers to expand this year’s festival to nine days.
Once again, the Silk Road
Film Festival will feature the International Golden Karagöz Feature Film Competition and give Bursa locals the chance to see films created by young talent from all over the world.
Nearly 100 films The Silk Road Film Festival also places great importance on the development of Turkish cinema and will continue to support directors of new Turkish films.
Short silent films will be featured in this year’s International and National Golden Karagöz Short Film Competition, for which the theme is "Without Dialogue." Short filmmakers will be able to get directions and application forms for the competition through the festival’s run.
During the festival, Bursa locals will be able to watch nearly 100 films, including the latest work by world-renowned directors and actors. The festival will also feature free cinema courses.
