A Saudi airport worker woke up in Turkey, after falling asleep in the hold of a Turkish Airlines plane, which was bringing pilgrims home from Jeddah to the southeastern city of Diyarbakir. After taking the free three-hour flight, Muhammed Ahmed Mursi, 30, was hospitalized with pneumonia due to the freezing temperatures he experienced in the hold of the plane. "The patient was in a panic," his doctor Yusuf Yagmur said. "He is well now, but will stay in hospital for several days."
Mursi said he had fallen asleep from exhaustion while loading luggage, and he woke up after the plane took off because of the extreme drop in temperature. He then started to bang on the walls, and when the crew realized that there was someone down in the hold, they quickly began heating the area saving him from death, said airport officials.
