The controversy started by a statement made to CNN International by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan during his trip to the US continues. In an interview, PM Erdogan said "My daughters have to study in the US because of their turbans," to which Republican People's (CHP) Party MP leader Kemal Anadol responded in Turkey "Does his son also have to be in the US because of the turban?" Following this, PM Erdogan's son, Bilal Erdogan, who works for the World Bank in Washington, DC, wrote Anadol a letter. This letter, which Anadol claims was distributed to journalists by AKP authorities despite never having reached him, has brought forth differing reactions from members of the oppostion CHP Party. Referring to Bilal Erdogan, Anadol has said "He may not address me this way."  In the meantime, CHP Yalove MP Muharrem Ince has called for a television debate on whether PM Erdogan's son, Bilal Erdogan, is being treated unfairly. At a press conference, Ince reminded reporters that Bilal Erdogan's letter had said that "..out of hundreds of thousands of youths, I am in a lucky minority..." and in regards to this, challenged the younger Erdogan to a television debate:  Ince: You want to play the wronged Erdogan "Junior" role "The real unjustness is to the other trade schools. I receive around the same salary as his father, but my son goes to a state university.....These youth are really the wronged ones. You, on the other hand, want everything. You want to play the wronged Erdogan "Junior" role by putting forth this thesis. But I would be happy to debate you on this matter, just name the day and time and television channel you want." Â
