ISTANBUL - Cooperation between the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and the Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency is gaining speed as priority has been given to the renovation of the Fatih Davutpaşa and Gazanferağa madrasahs, the Süleymaniye mosque, the Hasanpaşa gashouse, Gazhanesi, the Kadıköy Haldun Taner Theater and historic streets and avenues.
The biggest aim of the cooperation between the municipality and the agency is to restore historic places and open them to the public once again.
Within this project, historic places, various tombs and 57 registered artifacts will be restored.
