ISTANBUL - Properties surrounding the recently renovated Akaretler Sıraevler, situated at Istanbul’s central district of Beşiktaş, are also being restored.
The building next to BJK Plaza’s back-door entrance was one of the historical buildings restored to match its prestigious neighbor. This once-ruined building has changed into a 14-apartment residence. The building’s new name is 3T
Beşiktaş Residence and it’s on Afacan Street. TURYAP, a leading real estate agency, bought this ruined building five years ago. There was no buyer for a long time, TURYAP said. The building was constructed in the late 19th century and is considered a second-degree historical monument.
For its renovation, a team of 50 people worked day and night for three months. During the restoration, the building’s unique texture and old carpentry were preserved. No walls were knocked down. The interior design that still complements the exterior design was renovated to meet modern needs. All units feature a kitchen, furnished bedrooms, living rooms and studies. Air conditioners and natural gas systems are also installed. Authentic old wooden structures in windows and doors were all preserved when possible.
The ground floor of 3T Beşiktaş Residence consists of four studio flats, all with one living room and one bedroom. The first and second floors have five studio flats each with one living room and one bedroom. The size of the units is 30 square meters. The building is now worth $2.5 million.
