ISTANBUL - Selective Kartal Evleri is a luxury apartment project in a part of Istanbul that is just beginning to realize its potential as an urban business and commercial district.
Kartal is gaining a new batch of luxury apartments as the urban renewal project in the Istanbul district begins to take hold. The Selective Kartal Evleri groundbreaking ceremony was held Thursday. Selective Kartal Evleri is a luxury home project being undertaken by Alper Inşaat, a relatively small and new construction company. The apartment complex is being built in an area of Kartal that has not seen much development. The street the development is on has mostly four or five story apartment buildings.
The nearby market, which also doubles as a grocery store, is quaint and offers a diverse amount of goods but people hoping to make a home there will need to journey to the nearby Migros or Carrefour for their weekly shopping. The area also offers a few dining options, mostly kebab joints. Right across from the entrance of the apartment buildings is the nearest restaurant, which was opened at the same time Alper Inşaat released its plans for the land plot. There is a good chance entrepreneurial initiatives will bring more flavors to the area.
The complex is made up of two apartment blocks and a total of 178 units. One apartment block is made up of two bedroom plus living room, three bedroom plus living room and four bedroom and living room units. These units are 70 of the 178 units on offer at Selective Kartal. These layouts come in a standard area, 96.42, 146.60, and 191.33 square meters respectively. Prices for three bedrooms range from YTL 266,500 to 295,000 and YTL 179,500 to 198,000 for two bedroom units.
The other block is made up entirely of one bedroom and one living room units that are offered in three different styles, A, B, and C. A units are 73.38 square meters and cost anywhere between YTL138, 000 to 149,500. B units are 71.03 square meters and cost between YTL 138,000 to 153,000. C units are 67.72 square meters and cost between 132,500 to 146,500.
The groundbreaking guest of honor and speaker was Kartal Municipality Mayor Arif Dağlar. "The best way to get out of a crisis is to have the right antidote. Otherwise you will be in great trouble. And we have a plan for Kartal. This district is an up and coming district.
No other urban renewal and development plans in Turkey rivals what we are trying to accomplish in Kartal," Dağlar said. He views the luxury apartments to be built in Kartal’s Adnan Kahveci Boulevard as the beginning of that urban renewal process.
’Kartalite’
The mayor, who exhibited great humor during the press conference, noted that their aim was to make Kartal synonymous with aesthetic beauty and quality. "When you combine Kartal and quality, what do you get," he asked the audience at the ceremony. After a moment of silence, he replied that the product was Kartalite, or the combination of the word Kartal and the Turkish word for quality, kalite.
Dağlar also congratulated Alper Inşaat on showing initiative in the area and praised the efforts of the company's charity works in Kartal. Alper Inşaat built a playground for autistic children in the coastal part of Kartal pro-bono. There was not a municipality budget to be able to build the park, which was taken on as a project in August, at which point Alper Inşaat stepped in to undertake the building of the park after intensive research in to the needs of autistic children.
