Private Applications for Kurdish Broadcast

The High Radio-TV Board RTUK decided to review the application of ART TV Channel from Diyarbakir to carry out Kurdish broadcast. Officials of RTUK said that "Permission has not been given yet. The petition has been admitted, similar to the three application made earlier."RTUK will grant Kurdish broadcasting permission to ART television after its completion of obligations provided under the regulation.The council officials, who made a statement on the decision rendered by RTUK concerning ART television in Diyarbakir, said, "A profile study will be carried out upon the acceptance of application. And the channel will complete its other documents."Stating that RTUK carried out profile studies about the previous three television channels, that RTUK carried out correspondence with the public institutions, the RTUK officials emphasized that the television channels were asked to complete their other obligations under the regulation.Â
