President Ahmet Necdet Sezer of Turkey arrived in Moscow yesterday as the guest of Russian Federal President Vladimir Putin.
Sezer's visit to Russia follows Putin's visit to Turkey in December 2004. Sezer was greeted on his arrival by Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul, who had arrived in Russia one day before, as well as by the Turkish Ambassador to Moscow, Kurtulus Taskent, and authorities from the Russian Foreign Ministry. The Russian military held a ceremony for Sezer at the Moscow Airport, with the band playing the national anthems of both Russia and Turkey. Sezer's wife, Semra Sezer, has accompanied him on this trip, as has the General Secretary of the Presidential office, Kemal Nehrozoglu.
