ISTANBUL - Due to customs problems in Bulgaria, the world-renowned British alternative rock group Placebo had to reschedule its Tuesday night concert in Istanbul to Wednesday night.

According to a written statement by concert organizer BKM, the postponement was caused by the trucks carrying the band’s equipment being held up overnight and all day Tuesday in customs at a Bulgarian border gate.

Placebo was expected to take the stage Wednesday night at 9 p.m. at the Turkcell Kuruçeşme Arena.

Band members Brian Molko, Stefan Olsdal and Steve Forrest, have released six studio albums, six EPs and 27 singles. They have gained a considerable amount of international recognition. They have sold over 1 million albums in the UK and over 10 million worldwide. Placebo has performed three previous times in Istanbul on Dec. 9, 2000, Sept. 13, 2003 and Sept. 3, 2006. Its sixth studio album, "Battle for the Sun," was released June 8.
